Choral Scholarships 2018 - 2019

Four choral Scholarships are available for teenagers in School Years 9 -13 for the academic year 2018 – 2019.

We are looking for young people who enjoy singing, want to learn and are keen to develop their skills singing in a choir.

• Singing weekly in St George’s
• Trips to sing in cathedrals and other venues
• £100 scholarship money each term

A choral scholarship at St George’s could be your launch pad for taking singing further and university opportunities.

St George’s is friendly, open and enthusiastic about the Choir.

What’s involved?

• Friday early evening rehearsal fortnightly during term time
• Morning service each Sunday
• A 75% minimum commitment (which you can fit around exams, school trips, etc.)
• Some additional voice and musical training

How would I apply?

• Register interest any time, by 14^th September
• Attend a workshop at St George’s on Saturday 15^th September 10.30-12.30, so you can taste the experience, find out more and see what you think

We are not looking for the finished product!  Rather we are looking for people with an interest in singing, who want to learn and take up a great opportunity.  It does not matter which voice part you sing, or whether you are not yet sure of this (soprano, alto, tenor or bass).
